In My Workshop

Why Am I Showing You What Tools I’m using?

I think it’s important to share what tools you are using when explaining a technique  or project. Every brand and even model has differences so a mistake with one tool might not be applicable to a similar but different tool.

(Some of) What I Have

SawStop Jobsite Saw

If you want to buy a table saw…save up for this one. Seriously. It’s $800 more than the Dewalt or Rigid models but it’s an investment in your fingers. Sawstop technology will NOT CUT OFF YOUR FINGER.

Microjig Grr-ripper

Once again, this one is something I bought before I even got a table saw. Keep your fingers, by investing in a Grr-ripper. If you can, get two for leap frogging longer boards.

Bosch Variable Speed Router 1617EVSPK

If you plan to round off edges, smooth off sides, cut grooves into things, you’ll need a router. This one is great and comes with a fixed base as well as a plunge base (for being able to start in the middle of a board)

Bosch Router Table (Cabinet Style)

I learned VERY quickly that I’m NOT good at handling a powerful router by hand. The router table has allowed me to much more cleanly and quickly route box joints, rabbets, and simple rounded edges.

Laguna 14″ Bandsaw

I recently got this bandsaw after about a year of honing my skills with other tools. It is seriously a game-changer for curves and giving me the ability to resaw boards to a different thickness!

Worx Pegasus Folding Work Table

This thing was my first “work bench”. It’s SUPER portable and comes with two quick clamps that go right into the track, as well as some bench dogs (the little plugs).
